About ABO Incompatibility
ABO incompatibility is a condition where a mother's blood type (typically O) is different from her baby's (A or B), leading to potential antibody reactions. While often mild, it can cause jaundice or anemia in newborns, sometimes requiring treatment. TheDrugClub helps families manage these unexpected medical costs by offering significant savings on necessary prescriptions, ensuring your baby gets the care they need without financial strain.
What is ABO Incompatibility?
ABO incompatibility occurs when a mother has type O blood and her baby has type A or type B blood. During pregnancy or birth, some of the baby's red blood cells can enter the mother's bloodstream. Because the mother's immune system recognizes these A or B cells as foreign, she produces antibodies against them. These antibodies can then cross the placenta back into the baby
