Pharmacist insight

About Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis ALS
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), often called Lou Gehrig's disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cell. These motor neurons control voluntary muscle movement. As these cells degenerate, they can no longer send messages to muscles, leading to muscle weakness, atrophy, and eventually paralysis.
