Bisphosphonates for osteoporosis must be taken on an empty stomach with a full glass of water, and patients should remain upright for 30 minutes afterward. This prevents esophageal irritation. Generic alendronate is equally effective as brand-name Fosamax for preventing fractures.

About Dupuytren Contracture

Dupuytren's contracture is a progressive hand condition where tissue under the skin thickens, causing fingers to bend permanently inwards. It can significantly impact daily activities and quality of life. While there's no cure, various treatments can manage symptoms and improve hand function. TheDrugClub helps make these vital treatments more accessible and affordable, ensuring you can pursue the care you need without financial strain.

What is Dupuytren's Contracture?

Dupuytren's contracture is a condition that affects the tissue beneath the skin of your palm. It's characterized by the formation of knots and thick cords of fibrous tissue that can eventually pull one or more fingers into a bent position. This makes it difficult, and sometimes impossible, to fully straighten the affected fingers, most commonly the ring and pinky fingers. While usually not painful, the inability to fully extend your fingers can severely impact daily tasks like shaking hands, putting on gloves, or washing your face.

Initially, you might notice small, tender lumps or nodules in your palm. Over time, these can develop into tough cords that extend from the palm into the fingers
