Fissured tongue, also known as scrotal tongue or plicated tongue, is a benign condition where grooves or furrows appear on the top surface of the tongue. These fissures can vary in depth and number, sometimes making the tongue appear cracked or wrinkled. They are often most prominent along the midline and can branch out across the tongue's surface.
