About Artificial tears (carboxymethylcellulose 0.5%)

Experiencing dry, irritated eyes? Artificial tears containing carboxymethylcellulose 0.5% provide fast, soothing relief by mimicking your natural tears. At TheDrugClub, we believe essential eye care shouldn't break the bank. Artificial tears carboxymethylcellulose 0.5% is a widely used and effective over-the-counter (OTC) ophthalmic solution designed to alleviate the uncomfortable symptoms of dry eyes. This common condition, often caused by factors like screen use, environmental irritants, aging, or certain medications, can manifest as burning, stinging, grittiness, redness, and general eye discomfort. By providing immediate lubrication, this medication helps to restore comfort and protect the delicate surface of your eyes. It's suitable for both chronic dry eye sufferers and those experiencing occasional irritation. The active ingredient, carboxymethylcellulose sodium (CMC), is a cellulose derivative that acts as a demulcent. When applied to the eye, it forms a protective, lubricating layer on the surface, much like your natural tears. This layer helps to moisturize the eye, reduce friction from blinking, and stabilize the tear film, which is crucial for clear vision and eye health. Unlike some other artificial tears, CMC-based solutions are known for their comfortable feel and relatively long-lasting effect, providing sustained relief without blurring vision. It essentially supplements and enhances your eyes' natural ability
