What the symptom checker does
The symptom checker is an informational tool on TheDrugClub. You select symptom names from the lists on this page. A later results view lists condition names and medication names from this site. The tool is for informational purposes only. This is not a medical diagnosis. Always consult a healthcare professional.
The checker does not examine you. It does not take vital signs, order a lab, or decide which condition you have. Selecting a name does not create a medical record and does not send a prescription. A medication guide linked below is the page for that medication. It is not a statement that the medication is appropriate for you, and it is not an instruction to start, stop, or change a drug.
Limits, including emergencies
If a symptom concerns you, seek care from a doctor, nurse, or other clinician who can examine you. If you think you are having a medical emergency, call 911. Do not use this page to decide that an emergency can wait, and do not use it to rule an emergency out. The tool cannot tell those situations apart.
The results view counts how many of the words you selected appear in the text for a condition on this site. It then lists medication names that are listed with that condition. The count is not a medical probability, not a risk score, and not a ranking of how serious a symptom is. Two people can choose the same words and still need different care. TheDrugClub does not give medical advice through this tool.
How to use the checker
The checker has three steps, and you do not need an account to start them. First, choose one body area. The areas shown on the page are Heart and Cardiovascular, Mental Health, Diabetes and Metabolism, Respiratory, Pain and Inflammation, Digestive Health, Allergies and Immunology, Men's Health, Skin Conditions, and Eye Conditions. Choose the area closest to what you want to read about. You can go back and pick a different area.
Second, select one or more symptom names listed for that area. A search box on that step filters the same list. It does not search the open web, and it does not accept a diagnosis as an input. Third, submit the selection. The site opens a results view for those names. You can return to this page and start over. Nothing in those three steps is a diagnosis.
