About Eptinezumab
Eptinezumab, marketed as Vyepti, represents a significant advancement in the preventive treatment of migraine in adults. Administered as a quarterly intravenous infusion, it offers a consistent approach to reducing migraine frequency and severity. At TheDrugClub, we understand the financial considerations of specialty medications and strive to help our members find pathways to potential savings on treatments like eptinezumab.
Eptinezumab (Vyepti) is an innovative medication specifically approved for the preventive treatment of migraine in adults. This includes individuals suffering from both episodic and chronic migraine, offering a new avenue for those who have not found adequate relief with other preventive therapies. Migraine is a debilitating neurological disorder characterized by severe headaches, often accompanied by symptoms such as throbbing pain, nausea, vomiting, and extreme sensitivity to light and sound. By reducing the frequency and intensity of these attacks, eptinezumab can significantly improve a patient's quality of life.
So, how does eptinezumab work its magic? It belongs to a class of drugs known as calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) antagonists. CGRP is a neuropeptide found throughout the body, and it plays a crucial role in the pain pathways associated with migraine. During a migraine attack, CGRP levels increase, contributing to the inflammation and pain signals in the brain.
